The Hollywood Gossip Week in Review: October 24-30, 2009

Quite a week, wasn’t it? We can’t remember a crazier seven days of celebrity gossip and news since … well, the week before this. But this one was still pretty solid.

Welcome to The Hollywood Gossip’s Week in Review!

Some of the highlights (and lowlights) from the past week:

• Most subtle F-bomb dropped: This Arnold Schwarzenegger letter.
• Least subtle online plea for forgiveness: Chris Brown’s RiRi Twittering.
• Most desperate fake mistress looking for 15 minutes:: Nicole Forrester.
• Least sane, potentially murderous stalker: Sean Christian Mathis.
• Only slightly less deranged (although funnier): This Miley fan.
• Oh, and this random Taylor Swift fanatic wasn’t much better.
• Most absurd feud that absolutely refuses to die: Sarah Palin vs. Levi Johnston. He says she called her mentally challenged baby a retard. She replied suggesting Levi’s a man-whore. He says he has info that can take her down. Etc.

Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston need to get in a cage fight already.

• Most excuse for a news story: Robsten breaking up. Were they even confirmed as a couple? Only by the same magazine that reported their split a week later.
• Least appropriate, borderline racist comment: Bob Griese’s Taco Hell.
• Most exciting new couple like ever: Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.
• Least healthy couple ever: Blake Fielder-Civil and Amy Winehouse.
• Most decadent wedding ceremony: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.
• Least necessary child-pimping of the week: Billy Ray, on Noah Cyrus.
• Most overhyped release: Britney Spears’ “3″ music video. Sure, the publicity for Michael Jackson’s This Is It was overkill, but at least the movie was good. And wasn’t leaked five seconds at a time with a perfume ad.

Michael Jackson’s This Is It debuted this week to general praise.

The Rise and Fall of Lindsay Lohan: A Train Wreck in the Making

Lindsay Lohan used to be so cute. So fresh-faced, so innocent.

Now she’s a slow-moving train wreck that’s picking up speed.

The only question is when and where that train is going to crash, and if the result will be catastrophic. Can the coked-up engineer of this locomotive be saved?

Yeah. We know.

In just a few short years, she’s gone from an adorable ‘tween movie star to a shell of a woman whose Wikipedia page features a long, four-paragraph section called “Car Accidents, DUIs and Rehabilitation.” That’s never a good sign.

She’s withering away, both literally and otherwise. That fresh, innocent face is long gone, a pair of comically enhanced lips all that remains in its wake.

Miley Cyrus: Excited About Sex and the City Cameo, Birthday

A crazed fan might be threatening to kill a kitten if Miley Cyrus doesn’t return to Twitter, but the singer isn’t letting this possible homicide get her down.

On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today, Miley focused on her much-hyped, upcoming cameo in Sex and the City 2. She said:

“Literally, I shot for like an hour and a half, and I was done. It was a total dream come true… Working with [Kim Cattrall] was really cool, and Sarah Jessica Parker was the nicest person in the world.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be an interview with Cyrus if the actress didn’t dish on something self-serving, as well.

Regarding her 17th birthday on November 23, the star revealed her outlandish part hopes, saying:

“I want to rent out a cool place and play all Dolly Parton music and have everyone dress up as their favorite Dolly moment. I am really excited about getting all my crew members to dress up as Dolly. That’s probably going to be the funniest thing ever.”

Chaz Bono: Jennifer Elia is My Rock

Jennifer Elia, the girlfriend of Chaz Bono, was completely supportive of her partner’s decision to undergo a sex change operation and become a man.

Quite the display of strength and quite the departure from the countless celebrity relationships we’ve talked about that fizzle out over minute details.

Chaz Bono says his gender reassignment surgery allows the two to physically have what they’ve always had emotionally: a heterosexual relationship.

“She’s been amazing,” Bono, who underwent the operation this summer, told ET.

“I really feel so grateful to be going through this with a partner.”

Chaz Bono’s operation by no means caught Jennifer Elia off guard.

She knew his intention to do this from the start, Bono says: “I didn’t just spring this on Jennifer recently. This was something she knew about shortly after we met. Our relationship always modeled a heterosexual relationship.”

“This was true emotionally and intellectually. Now it is physically as well.”

Chaz Bono, whose voice is drastically lower and has been shaving once a week now, says he feels relieved, as in his mind, he’s always been a male.

“I feel like I’m living in my body for the first time, and it feels really good,” said the child of Cher, who was also supportive of Chaz’s sex change.

“The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child,” she said.
